League Age
Requirements: Use
next year's Little League age for assignment of players to teams and levels
of play. The player must be at least 8 years old to play. If a player wishes
to play with his/her current age group, that will be allowed, in some cases.
Exception: Players who will be league age 13 in 2008, will be required
to play as 13 year olds for the 2006 Fall Training & Development Program.
| Season: | Games begin the first week of September and end the last week of October. They average 2 games per week. Weeknight games normally start at 5:00 PM (C & B division) or 7:30 PM (A & B division ) and last for 2 hours. Saturday games are played at 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM. |
| Practices: | Players will be contacted by their coach - Mid August. Practice begins in the middle of August. (Practice frequency is dependant on the coach). |
| Games: | Games are played at Udall and various east side parks around Tucson: |
| Udall - Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon | |
| Mehl - River Rd, east of Dodge | |
|
McDonald - Catalina Highway |
Fall Ball is a time when players get to try out new positions, correct bad habits, develop new skills, and have stress free fun. We use the "continuous batting" rule and usually each player only sits for one inning in the game. No standings are kept and the emphasis is placed on individual skill building and team spirit. Travel is limited to the above east side parks and the competition will be Frontier, Canyon View, and Tanque Verde Little Leagues.
Parents Contribution: Making sure players get to practices and games on time. Assisting manager with preparation of the field/dugout before and after games when needed along with team snacks after games, making phone calls, and providing water for players during games.
